Healthy Eating

I'm not sure I've ever mentioned it on this blog but since February I have been a vegetarian...well actually pescatarian if you want to be technical.  I decided that I wanted to just try it out for a month and since then have never looked back!  I love it, I think I eat healthier, choose more vegetable, and am more conscious of what I'm putting into my body.  Summertime is the perfect time as well because everything is so fresh and local.

So although I am pretty health conscious and generally eat good, nutritious foods, it's my sister that is the real health nut.  As I've mentioned in previous posts she moved out to Boulder and is now working for Rudi's Bread.  AND just last week she started a blog for them!  One of the main things that Rudi's focuses on is their Gluten-Free bread and so she is trying out the Gluten-Free lifestyle for a month and seeing how it effects her and how easy/difficult it is to live Gluten-Free.  I'm ever so proud of her and she already has her first entry up!

I can't wait to hear what she thinks about the lifestyle and if it makes her feel any better.  Gluten-free seems like such a bigger thing these days and am interested to see how easy it is for her to do it.  So here's to being healthy, trying new things, eating lots of veggies, and my sister!  I think I'll go cut up some fresh fruit :)

  1. Good for you! Doctor's orders that I need to eat red meet once a week, and I also can't imagine life without eating meat. But I do eat healthy otherwise. A lot more people are being diagnosed with celiac, but I was recently tested and it's not what I have an intolerance to. Anywho, happy Tuesday!

  2. I love the vegetarian lifestyle, although we do eat meat from time to time. Our garden has done really well this year, though, so lately all of our main courses have been vegetable :-)

  3. Thanks for the feature on your blog Pey! I am definitely getting my veggies in on this GF lifestyle change but I have lots of energy and am feeling good! New post to be up soon about grocery stores and navigating labels!
