Annie and Tyler's big day!

Well, one of the things I wanted to tell y'all about was one of my closest college friends wedding two weeks ago.  It was SO much fun!  It was really neat because I am so used to summer weddings this was a very nice change - fall weddings are lovely because you can use such pretty colors and the weather is a little crisper.  Anyway, the weekend started off on Thursday with her bachelorette party.  We went down to her family's lake house and did bachelorette games and fun girly stuff (including a special guest which I am not going to get into because it was horrifying!).  Annie's sister, the MOH, did a magnificent job and put together bags and the whole evening - I think Annie really enjoyed it, here are a few pics:

so excited to be back together!

I thought I had a picture of the bags but I don't - they were adorable scout bags with bridesmaid survival kit items - so cute!

Friday we woke up and got ready for the bridesmaids' luncheon in Greenville.  I got to sit next to the flower girl, hehe, it was a lot of fun and Annie gave us beautiful blankets and pearl earrings.

beautiful arrangement!
Friday afternoon we hung out and the rest of my Sewanee friends arrived which was lots of fun...we didn't have too much time though because we had to be at the church at 6 for the rehearsal and then on to the rehearsal dinner!

if only the bride to be had kept her eyes open!

Friday night we went out with a bunch of friends and met up with some other old Sewanee friends that came down for the wedding...ending the night eating popcorn in my bathroom with 2 of my favorite buddies :)

Saturday was the big day!  We all went out to breakfast which was great because it gave us a chance to catch up and just enjoy each others company.  As we returned from breakfast though, we realized we needed to get moving!  We went over and saw Annie getting her hair done:

And then headed back to the hotel to get ourselves ready.  I didn't get my hair done professionally (although I regretted not making an appointment) but I did try a side ponytail...I think it looked ok, what do you think?  We jumped in the car and went to the church to see Annie put on her dress, take pictures and get ready before the service!  The whole evening went by in a blur but here are some of the pictures I snapped:

As you can tell it was a fun-filled whirlwind weekend...aahhh and now I must get ready for work!

Fallen off the bandwagon...

OH my gosh, I can't believe how long it has been since I lasted posted on my blog...how did this month get away from me!  Well I admit I have fallen off the blogging bandwagon but I am going to make a conscious effort to jump back on!  I have so much to share from the past few weeks!  It has just been insane...I've only slept in my bed 3 nights in the past 2 weeks!  OK where to start...I guess Annie's wedding!  It was an absolutely fabulous weekend (ahh that reminds me I need to write a thank you card to her parents!!).  I would go through a whole recap but my computer is being too slow and won't upload the pics and well...let's face it, no one is going to read without the pics!  So that will have to come later...

Lot's of other updates to report and I promise I am going to REALLY try...although I can't promise because I have 3 papers and 2 exams in the next few weeks but hopefully get excited to hear about: Annie's wedding extravaganza, Thanksgiving with the fam, virtual Christmas cards, Fifi, Cross Street Friday and a few other surprises... can't wait to share them with you!  Until then...have you seen Marcel the shell part 2??  I can't get enough!

"Fluffing the dress" and other wedding antics

Well I had quite a weekend, the wedding was absolutely fabulously beautiful and ever so much fun!  I put together a few collages as I had to consolidate over 150 pics...I know I'm a bit of a paparazzi :)  The bride was ravishing and I was so honored and had so much fun being a bridesmaid!  The weekend started on Thursday with a dinner for out of town guests and then out in a bar in Decatur:

We went to Brickstore and had lots of fun to start the weekend

On Friday was the Bridesmaid luncheon, rehearsal, and rehearsal dinner.  All were absolutely beautiful, the rehearsal was hysterical as we had a very strict church director who kept telling the maid of honor (Gini's sister) to "fluff the dress".

Bridesmaid Luncheon
The bridesmaid luncheon was at my friend Lizzie's parents house and her mom did the whole thing, it was such a lovely Southern luncheon complete with quiche and yummy southern drinks.  For dessert she even had a homemade cake that she sprinkled her homemade honey on.  Gini gave us all beautiful necklaces (upper left picture) that we wore in the wedding (one of the other bridesmaids made them!).

Rehearsal Dinner with the whole bridal party
After the rehearsal we had the rehearsal dinner at a restaurant called Wahoo in Decatur.  It was adorable, they had done a beach theme because the proposal was on the beach.  There were lots of toasts and a few tears and I think the bride and groom had a wonderful time (all of the Sewanee bridesmaids did a toast with a theme of Sewanee angels, I thought it was pretty sweet if I do say so myself :)).

We woke up and very quickly the wedding festivities got started.  We went and got our hair done with the bride which was so much fun and very girly.  Then we immediately had to go to the church and get ready for the wedding and get pictures.

Gini was so beautiful in her dress and the bridesmaid dresses and flowers looked so cute together.  I was a bit nervous walking down the aisle as this was the first time I was in a wedding...and I was the first one down the aisle which was a bit intimidating, it went well though!

Then we headed to the reception which was beautiful at the Decatur Courthouse.  We had a lovely dinner and then lots of dancing.  One of the highlights was dancing with one of Gini's little cousins - he was 6, he was so adorable!

After the wedding we headed into Atlanta and went out to a few bars, it was hysterical.  Everyone was looking at us since we all had matching dresses, at one bar someone asked if we were the wedding party they  had seen at the other bar!  We stayed up a little too late but it was worth it because I got to see lots of old friends that I hadn't caught up with in ages.

Soo all in all it was such a great weekend and now the bride and groom are off to Peru!  On Sunday I dragged one of my friends to Harry Potter so I will have to work on a recap of that tomorrow.  Now I have to begin catching up with life and getting myself back together, happy Tuesday!

Wednesday Wedding Talk

So for some reason it's not allowing me to get into Flip Flops and Pearls for semi-wordless Wednesday so I"m going to try a new site to link up to!  I'm linking up to this kind of love's what I'm loving Wednesday and today I'm loving weddings!

Soo I know I seem to have talked a lot about weddings on this blog lately but this weekend is my last wedding of the summer and the first wedding that I am in!  My college roommate is getting married to a wonderful guy that she met while working at her law firm.  They got engaged last August and I have been so excited for her ever since!

After the engagement announcement I had to see her so I flew down to ATL and we threw them a little engagement party:

bridesmaids/party hosts

adorable cupcakes the brides mom made

adorable cake one of the bridesmaids made

Sewanee girls (it was 2 of our other friends bdays)

After that the bride and her mom went into wedding planning mode and had everything planned super quickly!  We were trying on our bridesmaid dresses the morning after the engagement party:

these are the bridesmaid dresses but in caramel
Sadly I wasn't able to make it down for any of the bridal showers but I did travel down to ATL a few other times and was able to see her in her dress (soo beautiful) and do a few other fun wedding errands.

As you've already seen, I was down south again a few weeks ago and we threw a bachelorette party in Hilton Head, it was awesome.

the bride and I

almost the entire bridal party
So now I'm headed back for the wedding and am SO excited!  Almost our entire group of friends will be there plus a few other Sewanee buddies I haven't seen in AGES.  The wedding is going to be soo beautiful, the reception is in the beautiful Decatur Courthouse:

And all of the other festivities are close by.  It's going to be amazing and I could not be happier for the two of them.  The last wedding in my group of friends was almost exactly 2 years ago:

So this should be LOTS of fun (as you can tell I love love weddings).  Anyway, this may be my last post of the week, if so have a lovely weekend and see you all next week!

Fashion Friday: Dress Shopping

So as usual, my favorite type of outfit is a dress...and yet again I am looking for another dress for a rehearsal dinner next weekend for one of my dearest friends wedding's!  Sooo I thought I would do a little online shopping and see whats out there, and while I'm at it participate in Fashion Friday from Blonde Episodes

Here are a few dresses I've found so far (some obviously not appropriate for rehearsal dinner)...I'm trying to shop sale more now that I am a grad school student, blahh:

Not sure if this is formal enough
but definitely very cool

I've been eyeing this dress for awhile
from anthro but I have so many like this
not sure I want another...

Super neat little dress from
South Moon Under, not sure it's formal enough

Just like this one, def not formal enough
(from SMU as well)

Been really wanting a maxi lately...
SMU has some really cute ones

Found this cute little jersey dress
at Old Navy, may just have to stop by...

Love this dress from Lilly

This one is so fun with the bubble bottom
but still formal with the gold on top

Could never afford but this dress is just
absolutely beautiful, a girl can dream :)

Well I guess I better go looking for a dress now :)  What're your favorite places to shop for a dress?

Happy weekend!
